Keep your hands off

I have to say - wow. There is no argument about it. Microsoft are smart. They have it licked. Everyone will soon be using Microsoft software - in everything. Why can't they just keep their hands off?

And popular language and Microsoft bring out their own format. We have java script so they bought in Jscript. VB turned to VB Script. SQL turned to ADO. And don't even get me started about the random HTML tags they added in Internet Explorer.

With new XML Web Services, most companies will soon be using IIS and Biz Talk servers. But that's no longer enough. They now also need SQL Server too. And all produced my Microsoft, all running of Microsoft Languages and all compatible with Microsoft software.
Even worse it that they are even doing it to themselves. The MSDN Soap Toolkit was replaced by the Microsoft Soap Toolkit. MS .net went to asp .net. What the hell is going on?

Microsoft may look like, XML Web Services and Soap are opening put cross platform open unities so other operating systems can compete with Windows but in actual fact its just closing the trap.
